ORCOMBE POINT, DEVON - INTERPRETIVE PLANNING & COPYWRITING

The distinctive red rocks of Orcombe Point, on the Exmouth seafront, are the western gateway of the renowned Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

I joined interpretive design team Bright 3D to establish an interpretation masterplan for the site and implement the proposals for Devon County Council.

Our visitor management and interpretive proposals recommended a pedestrian-friendly area at the foot of the cliffs, with eye-catching welcome, orientation and interpretation features as part of the promenade experience.  On the wilder and more natural clifftop above, we created sensitive interpretive focal points that blend with the landscape and complement the far-reaching views.  This has created a distinctive and welcoming gateway experience, worthy of this remarkable WHS.

I helped deliver the masterplan, develop the proposals and wrote all the content.
